This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. One more thing, since you asked about the Typhon scene.  There has been a l=

of disagreement over that scene.  I think that Typhon does in fact recogniz=
e=20
Severian, others believe that he doesn't.  My primary reason is that somewh=
ere=20
in that scene Typhon implies that if Severian bows to him, the Conciliator=20
will also bow to him.  I think there is enough parallelism in that scene to=20
justify "recognition" beyond Typhon's desire for the Claw, but no consensus=20
could be reached on that point. =20
There should be plenty in the archives on it from a few months ago that=20
presents both sides, so you can re-read the scene and come to your own=20
decision on it. =20
