This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Marc,

1. Nice catch about the Blood sacrifice. It makes sense of a lot of things,=20
including
Blood's name ... names being quite as important in the Long/Short sun books=20
as in
the New. (Has anyone pointed out that the name of the old Calde, Tussah, is=20
not
only the name of a kind of caterpillar but also that of the fabric made fro=
m=20
its ... silk?
Riffing from there: those interested in the idea that Silk is in some sense=20
a clone of
the original Typhon, might do well to consider Tussah's "family" in the=20
light of the
family of Joseph in the New Testament...)

2. No, you're not crazy about Ma(n)hood. That's the same impression I get=20
from
_The Unnameable_, though I also have the vague impression that Mahood and
Worm are actually two different characters.
