BotNS in German

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Barbican according to Oxford English Dictionary

barbican 1: 1. An outer fortification or defence to a city or castle,
esp. a double tower  erected over a gate or bridge; often made strong
and lofty, and serving as  a watch-tower.  b. Retained as name of a
street in London. †2. A temporary wooden tower or bulwark. †3. A
loophole in the wall of a castle or city, through which missiles might
be discharged. Obs.

According to my dictionaries, the German for barbican is
Barbakane,die; Torvorwerk, das
