urth-urth.net Digest, Vol 5, Issue 15

James Wynn · 11 Jan 2005, 11:44 · from 2005-January.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

>What is exactly insulting Orwell's opinion or my own?

Errr...I think the insulting part was not Orwell's opinion which was
directed a Chesterton, but it was rather your own which was directed at the
intellect of anyone considering converting to Catholicism. That's rather
personal and not directed at some dead for nigh on a century.

In short, it was inflammitory.
