urth-urth.net Digest, Vol 5, Issue 15

aqala at yahoo.com · 11 Jan 2005, 11:46 · from 2005-January.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

You can find the text of Orwell’s essay here:

So anyone who expresses a view that does not confirm to your own (or
certain members) views than he is bent on insulting? That must make it
easy (very easy) to just dismiss anyone with a different view rather than
engage them!

You read all that in a post that didn’t even mention Wolfe? No your
interpretation is completely wrong.
