This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Thank you Mark

I had always regarded the 'Elephant and Whale Jokes' I
heard as a child as classic examples of Absurdist and
Surrealist humour.
I had never associated them with the racist jokes,
which I soon learned to hate.
I can understand now why some people found that post
of mine offensive, it was never my intention to impugn
any race.
And thank you for that insight.
I believe Gene's experiences in Korea cured him of all
racist tendencies that he may have acquired and gave
him a deeper understanding of humanity which extends
to elephants, whales and crippled monkeys.
Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
I should learn to look before I leap.
