Gene Wolfe's "The Knight"

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

     This is what he told me at ConFusion 2002:  it was titled "The 
Wizard Knight" while he was writing it, and it's his stab at a doorstop 
fantasy epic.  He said it was to be published in two volumes (which, in 
Gene's case, probably means both volumes have already been written), and 
would be delayed until Feb. 2004 because the publisher was sending it 
out for internal illustrations (!).

     That's all the info I have on it, and some of that might have 
changed in the last 18 months.  He wouldn't reveal anything (to me) 
about the plot, characters, or setting.
