The Snootiness of Gene Wolfe

Ron Henry · 01 Mar 2004, 16:36 · from rec.arts.sf.written.2004.mbox

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Um. You're so familiar with his work that you mis-spell his name in the
first line of your post? Sigh.

Hint: let's say you're not simply a random troll-like troublemaker (I
don't feel like scrutinizing your post closely enough for clues to
tell) -- be careful about obvious and egregious mis-spellings, since
they are the sure mark of a random jerk who is just trying to incite
people.

Well, that's very fortunate.
