Happy birthday, Gene Wolfe

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I think it works very well.  It's a poem you have to spend some time 
with, and the notes are a big help, NTTAWWT.

I have visited a couple of the poetry groups, and I think I understand 
why you haven't posted there.  They seem to be dominated, and I do 
mean that, by a small number of posters.  Do rasfwers regularly do 
poetrycrit?  I ask because the poem doesn't strike me as primarily 
science-fictional -- but maybe I'm missing stuff; a word might be 
sufficient ("dur"), to start me looking further.  Or maybe rereading 
TBOTNS.
