Digest whorl.v010.n078

David Langford · 07 Feb 2000, 10:08 · from whorl-v0010.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Right on! What does he know? Besides, in an on-line chat elsewhere, Wolfe=20
also remarked that Quetzal was not the only one of his kind on the Whorl.=20
So maybe the answer would have been different if we'd put the question in=20
the form, "Was 'Pike's ghost' a member of Quetzal's species?" Ah, the joys=20
of hindsight.
