Clute review - spoilers?

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

My judgment is that Clute casually reveals the resolution of the primary
mystery of the novel, but it is not instantly clear that he is doing so.
More correctly, I think that if I had read this review before reading the
novel, I would have felt that he had spoiled the ending, but actually all
of the pieces are there long before the ending.=20

If you're planning on reading RTW anyway (and the fact that you are posting
to this list, or reading it, or, for the greater outside audience, reading
its archives leads me to believe that you do so intend), I would recommend
reading the review, but only after the novel; Clute's description of the
novel is quite haunting.=20
