This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I don't really think so. Long ago I wrote to ask him if he thought of=20
himself as a Christian writer, and he wrote back to say that no, he is a=20
writer who is a Christian. I don't think "evangelization" is part of his=20
intention, though I'm sure he'd be happy if it were part of the result.=20
BTW, I also asked him, in the light of *Peace,* if he thought of himself in=20
any degree as a Southern writer (a la Walker Percy), and he responded by=20
saying he that is more of an urban than a rural writer.
