textual support for Silk suicide hypothesis

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

It is an easy mistake to make in the SS books. I felt that Horn or=20
Horn/Silk or Silk or whatever you want to call him bore a very close=20
resemblance to the Heinleinian omnicompetent man, especially in IGJ=20
and RttW. He can beat up men half his age, armed only with a rotten=20
stick, plan, fight in and win battles and give advice to lovesick=20
teenage girls. And that's not the half of it!

The only thing I can see that sets him apart from a Heinlein hero is=20
his is his raging self doubt and feelings of inadequacy, which I will=20
admit is a big difference,
