This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

OBW even came out.  I figured Typhon was enlightened by the outsider (or wh=

and instructed to build an ark to preserve every culture on the world until=

the flood, which is coming up now any chiliad.  This is at least a good
explanation for why he made the whorl so huge.  It also conveniently explai=
ns how
inhumi are in the whorl:  They came on board on Urth just like the other
passengers.  So when I next re-read New Sun, I was looking everywhere for i=
nhumi,
but all I found was a few blood bats, although someone did post long ago sa=
ying
that dorcas might be some sort of vampire.

If Severian is the outsider, maybe he ordered the building of the whorl out=
 of
guilt, and he knew that Typhon was the last person with the capability to d=
o it.

So anyway I was convinced that the whorl is not an interstellar vessel, and=
 I was
pretty annoyed in the end of SS when in actually flew away.
