This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

They aren't interchangable. Look at the conversation between between Silk a= nd Malmeta. He has lots of cards, but they are the wrong kind. She can't use a= ll the ones he has and needs the right kind. Further, if memory serves, the ca= rds are shaped differently and that's how Malmeta tells them apart. I do agree with the notion of Pas' plan to keep everyone onboard. It's also likely that he distributed the different cards throughout the ship so no o= ne faction could control the landers and therefore the colonies on the short s= un world. I'm glad someone else has just finished TBotLS, too. I've a few questions a= nd observations to make also. Rich Browne *More Wolfe info & archive of this list at http://www.moonmilk.com/whorl/
