Oh That Hy!

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Which seems to be a fair description of the church at various times, so it
works very well on both the self-sacrificing God-like love and the "silly n=
ice
priest falls for treacherous but hot lady..."  As to the second Enlightenme=
nt
after the honeymoon, it seems to imply that the Outsider approves of Silk
wedding Hy (by the way, who else thinks that ONLY Wolfe would have a massive
four-volume series and put a double wedding involving the four major charac=
ters
offstage!).  Thus giving the allegory a big boost.
	I'm still betting on Hy as head of the Trivigaunti spies, as well.
Although how important (if it's true) that will be in Short Sun (assuming s=
he
shows up) I don't know.
	Another thing, that just struck me today--I suspect this is pure
coincidence, but doesn't Hyacinth actually work fairly well as being named
after the Hyacinth girl in "The Waste Land?"  Thus tying to Vivian Eliot,
another marriage that was lots of trouble (at least Silk can be sure Hy won=
't
be sleeping with Bertrand Russell, unless things get very odd...)
