This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

What's the betting it'll turn into a tetrology like TBOTNS? (According to the Castle of the Otter, the planned third and final volume got too large and they had to split it). I'm very happy as while I was in Devon a week or so back (for Milford!), I found all four volumes of TBOTNS in the original UK paperbacks - a bit dog-eared and faded, but with the wonderfully evocative Bruce Pennington=20 cover paintings, which have always defined my mind's eye view of Wolfe's=20 landscapes. Actually I only found 3 of them, cursed my bad luck, but then Ben Jeapes pointed out that the fourth volume had strayed a few books along the shelf...
