Silk Circles Edition 2

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Curious further adventures in cheek rubbing....

=46rom EXODUS FROM THE LONG SUN, CHAPTER 1 (HARDCOVER), PG 21:

(Mint and Remora discover Councillor Potto's body at Bloods.)

"Gently at first, then with increased vigor, Maytera Mint rubbed the
councillor's cheek. 'This is a chem!'"

Love that: "increased vigor."

But why? Why does the cheek reveal the artificial body? Why not the arm, the
hand, the ear, or whatever? And why o why does rubbing it do the trick? Is
Silk, when he habitually repeats this gesture, questioning his own nature?
