I haven't heard of that one, unless you mean "The Game in the Pope's Head" (or less likely, "How the Bishop Sailed to Inniskeen"). The first is in RIPPER!, an anthology by Casper/Dozois, and also THE YEAR'S BEST FANTASY: SECOND ANNUAL COLLECTION by Datlow/Windling. The second is in SPIRITS OF CHRISTMAS antho by Cramer/Hartwell, and Asimov's Dec 1989.
