In fact the ancient Roman calendar is very tricky to me.
Let's see, in March the nones falls on the 7th and the ides falls on the 15th.
March 22 -- 8th day before calends
March 23 -- 7th day before calends
March 24 -- 6th day before calends
March 25 -- 5th day before calends
March 26 -- 4th day before calends
March 27 -- 3rd day before calends
Thus "ides" has nothing to do with it.
