as a feeble joke. In fact the ancient Roman calendar is very tricky to me. Let's see, in March the nones falls on the 7th and the ides falls on the 15th. March 22 -- 8th day before calends March 23 -- 7th day before calends March 24 -- 6th day before calends March 25 -- 5th day before calends March 26 -- 4th day before calends March 27 -- 3rd day before calends Thus "ides" has nothing to do with it. =mantis=
