Jonas/Jonah definition
Hi all, Not sure if this has been posted before; I couldn't find it in the archives. Check out the third definition of Jonah (from which Jonas is derived) as given below: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Jonah Jonah A male given name </wiki/given_name>. (Biblical) A book of the Old Testament </wiki/Old_Testament> and the Hebrew </wiki/Hebrew> Tanakh </wiki/Tanakh>. (nautical, slang </wiki/Appendix:Glossary>) A person who brings a ship bad </wiki/bad> luck </wiki/luck>. (slang </wiki/Appendix:Glossary>, by extension of the nautical sense) Any person or object which is deemed to cause bad luck; a jinx </wiki/jinx>. I wonder if crash landing a space ship after centuries adrift in time and space could be considered bad enough luck to qualify!
