definition of calde
hi, Aragorn. On Feb 8 you asked what Calde means.
I always assumed calde was derived from the word alcalde which is "the chief administrative and judicial officer of a Spanish town". The word itself is derived from the Arabic work Al-qudl which means judge.(all this according to the wonderful people at the Merriam-Webster dictionary).
