This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. Now that's an interesting tool. I'd guess the first real spike around 
1960 is Blish, the second is Wolfe, and the third is post-Wolfe SF, 
maybe even fan fiction of a sort.

Some of those hits must be "Plutarch."

Asimov's /The Stars Like Dust, /1951, also uses it.
