This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Well we've had an unpleasantness on this list and once again I am=20
extremely impressed by the enormous self-restraint and impeccable=20
good manners of the vast majority of members of this list (myself=20
excluded, of course).

In my opinion, Josh, posting the insult to the list rather than=20
sending it as a private email is the equivalent of causing a scene in=20
a public place and therefore you do owe the list as a whole an=20
apology.

I agree with Dan'l that your Wolfe get-together is almost certainly=20
not going to happen for the same reasons he gives. And you have,=20
perhaps, made the odds of the success of the project an infinitesimal=20
bit smaller by your demonstration of your highly developed ability to=20
over-react to non-existent provocation. There was an extremely tiny=20
but non-zero chance I might have decided to participate and pay a fee=20
for at least a virtual membership in this event before your=20
ill-considered remarks, but now the chance of my participation is=20
zero.

I don't expect you be impressed by the above statement or care about=20
my opinion at all. But if you now hesitate just a bit longer before=20
you hit the send button after having written your next "hot-headed"=20
reply then I will feel my message has served a useful purpose.
