This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

A debatable premiss, but consider the result as if it were a given.

Also correct. But Horn does not say the secret will make the inhumi
non-dangerous, only that it will make them no more dangerous than
crocodiles.=20

Intelligent, yes, but (_ex hypothesi_) benevolent. So you would have
the "alternating generations" situation you suggest, but the threat=20
would be greatly reduced, as the dangerous inhumi would be the mindless
animals.

(As a side note, how many people are _actually_ attacked by alligators=20
and the like in a given year? I presume that proper precautions could=20
make the threat from non-sentient inhumi no greater than that from=20
crocodilians.)
