When did you last see your mother?

Re: Severian as father of his own mother. I'm in agreement with the suggestion that Dorcas is pregnant. but where is the evidence in the text to suggest that this is in fact Katherine, Severian's mother? Are we saying that Severian is the result of an incestuous relationship (Dorcas' first child Ouen & second child by Severian)? And how does this interbreeding produce the saviour? Surely the results would be much less favourable....
