I'll second the recommendations for Lolita, which is a fine book. My personal favorite Nabokov novel, however, is Pnin. It is not the tour de force that Pale Fire is, but has its own trickiness. I've probably suggested it on the list before, but I think most Wolfe fans would also greatly enjoy Robert Irwin's The Arabian Nightmare.

My favorite Nabokov books are Pnin and Pale Fire, order depending on mood. Ada is another outstanding book, though, and SF (if of a decidedly odd nature). (His early Russian novel King, Queen, Knave is also SF.) Invitation to the Beheading, Bend Sinister, The Real Life of Sebastian Knight, and The Defense are also all excellent.
